Practising Hair
For my first design I barrel curled the hair at the bottom and made hair buns on the top. I created this look as as 1930's bob and a grunge look at the top. These hair buns were popular and were even used in party monster.
I wanted the bob to have more volume to I crimped the bob and backcombed it to create a bob shape. I made the hair buns at the top as from my presentation feefback they werent shown enough. I also included flower hair bands as a quirkly accesorry.
I then thought of keeping the back combed bob but adding something else rather than the scrunchies. I thought of adding a big plait down the sides to wrap around the bob. I thought this was still a contemporary and histroical design. I also played with aqua colour in the hair by applying red watercolour. I also got from my presentation feedback to think about the colour red as its a bold and dangerous signal which Sally wanted to show.
Scfi Practice
In Seemas lesson we were all given key words to add upon our hair designs. I got given 'Sc-fi' I thought of shapes of a furstic design and liked the big oval shapes ontop of the head. I also wanted to create a square style on the bob but found this difficult to achieve.
Practsing Make up
With all my pratices I was using supra colours and letting myself get creative. I thought of patterns and designs on the face. While looking through my research I saw abstract designs, with bold striking lines. I was playing around with shape and colour. The thing that striked me most about the club culture make up, is the Picasso relevance in some of the designs. I practiced this myself and liked the way it looked, how it looked like a different nose on one side. The lips I went more extreme to really make the cupids bow to stand out. They liked to accentuate the bow in the late 20's/30's but I made it really exaggerated to stand out.
