Abstract painting of the face
Using aqua colours to create colour for highlighting and shadowing
You use make up brushes to apply the aqua colour palette
Use more paint than water as it may turn out to weak
Think about light scars and the highlights of the face
Watercolours you can layer
Paint a line, wait for it to dry then apply more lines over the top
If you go up to the ear it gives the illusion of the face being longer
You can use the toothbrush for splatting on the face
Products used: Aqua colour palette, water
I started with creating designs but I realised I was creating to much blocking and not being free with the paint brush. So on the other side I was more free with my lines and changed the way I was holding my brush and was more light with my strokes. On the other side I began layering the colours by waiting for the other lines to dry and applying new strokes on top.
I used lighter colours first then for a contrast I used darker tones on top. I did however then add white for extra highlights on spefic areas like the eyes and the neck. I like how the neck turned out as it has a feather effect to it and I think the white agaisnt the white work really well as a contrast.. If I were to do this again I would use different techniques of holding the brush to see how different strokes turn out. I would also be confident in my lines.
